A research management system for cannabis cultivation trials β€” from trial design through data collection, analysis, and review.

Pages
πŸ“Š
Program Summary
KPI strip, Gantt timeline, and key results for all trials at a glance.
β—†
Trial Details
Active and past trial cards, data collection status, terpene upload.
πŸ“…
Trial Tracker
Timeline, milestones, and editable harvest dates.
πŸ“±
Data Entry
Mobile-friendly field collection β€” scan QR tags, enter measurements.
πŸ“ˆ
Analytics
Statistical analysis, terpene profiles, smokability, and lab reports.
✏️
New Trial (EPP Builder)
Design a new experiment β€” treatments, layout, response variables.
🏷
QR Codes
Print plant tags for a cohort before moving to the room.
Building a Trial
1
Project Info
Enter cohort number, title, variety, hypothesis, application method and frequency.
2
Treatments
Add treatments. The first is always the control. Set name, rate, and unit for each.
3
Response Variables
Select what you're measuring: Fresh Weight, Dry Weight, Smokability, Leaf Tissue Analysis, Terpenes, Cannabinoids. Add custom variables as needed.
4
Facility Layout
Enter rows and columns per bench. The system calculates total plant count and generates a grid preview.
5
Randomization
Choose RCBD or CRD. Set a seed for reproducibility. Review the map β€” each cell shows treatment assignment.
6
Review & Save
Review the full summary, print the room map, and click Save to write to Airtable and generate QR tags.
Collecting Data
1
Pick your cohort
Tap a room tile (if you're in the grow room) or a cohort tile from the home screen.
2
Select the activity
Choose what you're measuring: Fresh Weight Dry Weight Smokability or a custom variable. Tap Begin session β†’
3
Scan & enter
Scan the QR tag on each plant (or type the Plant ID). Enter the value and tap Save. Progress bar tracks completion.
4
Resume if interrupted
If you close the app mid-session, a resume banner appears when you return. Tap it to continue β€” already-recorded plants are blocked from re-entry.

Smokability β€” Select Smokability as the activity. Rate each treatment on Aroma, Flavor, Smoothness, Burn Quality, and Overall (1–5), plus Ash Color. One evaluation per treatment.

Terpene / Cannabinoid data β€” Drop a .ept file into the instrument section on the setup screen. The system parses and uploads compound data linked to the trial.

Lab reports β€” Scroll to Lab Reports on the setup screen and tap πŸ“Ž Attach PDF(s). Files are stored in Airtable and appear in Analytics.

Analytics

Select a cohort from the sidebar. The page shows:

  • Data Collection Progress β€” completion status for each response variable. Click a card to expand raw data.
  • Field Data Analysis β€” bar charts (mean Β± SD), ANOVA table, and treatment means with significance flags: β˜… p<0.05 † marginal ns
  • Smokability β€” radar chart, score heatmap (redβ†’green), ash color distribution.
  • Terpenes & Cannabinoids β€” spider plot, total % w/w bar, compound breakdown, per-compound ANOVA.
  • Lab Reports β€” attached PDFs at the bottom. Click to open in a new tab.

Use πŸ“„ Generate Report to produce a print-ready trial summary.

Program Summary

Shows all trials in one view:

  • KPI strip β€” total trials, active, complete, plants in room.
  • Gantt timeline β€” 9-month rolling window. Click any bar to open that trial's key results.
  • Trial feed β€” expand a card to see milestone dates, treatments, and data status chips (βœ“ green = complete, dot = pending).
  • Results panel β€” loads weight charts, stats, smokability, and terpene plots for the selected trial.
Tips
πŸ“±
Add Data Entry to your phone's home screen for a native app experience (Safari: Share β†’ Add to Home Screen).
🏷
Print QR tags before plants go into the room β€” use the QR Codes page. Tags include plant ID and treatment.
βœ…
Mark response variables complete on the Trial Details dashboard after data is collected. This updates the Program Summary status chips.
πŸ”’
Login is via Google (@athenaag.com) or one-time passcode. Sessions last 24 hours.
πŸ’Ύ
All data syncs to Airtable in real time. If you lose connection mid-session, records already saved are safe.
